Facebook Cover Video – An act of enhancement in facebook marketing

Facebook has always surprising its users since its inception and have been enhancing the technology of digital marketing since then. Recently I came across something really fascinating and completely fell in love with it. Over the past couple of months, it has slowly rolling out the ability to add video cover images to Facebook cover pages.

I am sure everyone of us being a marketer wants to levy this new feature to increase the excitement on our pages. But in doing so we first need to know if we really have access to Facebook video covers?

To find out, head over to your Facebook page, hover over the cover image and click on the Change Cover button. The drop-down menu should have the option to “choose from videos” or “upload photo/video” if you have the ability.

However, if you don’t have the access yet then there is no need to panic as this feature is still in its testing phase and soon will be available to mass – according to an official Facebook statement posted on Social Fir Media.

But do you wonder that why do we have to use a Facebook Cover Video?
When users visit your page, your Facebook cover photo is one of the first things they will notice. For new visitors, your cover photo can help represent your brand and portray your story in just a few seconds. It only makes sense that a short video can accomplish this better than a still photo.

Your cover video will be more effective if it gets its point across without sound, if users click to enable sound, great! But if they don’t then also you have not really lost on anything. Then maintaining clean lines, lots of white space and bright colors can all help in drawing users’ attention.

Ultimately you want your video to look attractive and make an appeal when it’s paused. Just make sure that every shot is interesting which will help your page look more attractive.
